So much for doing a bunch of blogging this week. I spent last night being all pissed off at my tenant. I had emailed her to let her know the television volume was getting way up there again, and she emailed back about how she's always trying to "work around your preferences" and "we both need to be a little more considerate and tolerant" and how I should "explain this thoroughly to any potential tenant". So I had to compose a response about what part of "quiet tenant" did she not understand and if I had known she'd have the television on from when she got home from work until she left again in the morning, I'd never have accepted her as a tenant. But in a much nicer and passive-aggressive way.

I've finally finished the hat:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

(I'm having issues with the picture - it's either huge or tiny, and I can't get it back to huge again, so you'll have to settle for tiny.)

Isn't it just adorable? I'm working out how to do booties to go with, and I'm going all crazy and not quite following directions and doing what I think will look better. I'm really enjoying this. I used to do crafty stuff all the time, but I kinda quit when I got to high school and started working and all that. It's kinda nice to rediscover forgotten pastimes.

By my view, it is huge. But also freaking adorable!

The tenant issue sounds awful. I am the type of person who only has the TV on for the times that I am watching specific programs. The rest of the time I play music or sit around in silence. The constant sound of people talking (and laughing!) in the background makes me want them to Shut. The. Fuck. Up.

Cheeky bint!

Very cute hat! I call 'going all crazy etc," Commando Knitting. It's the best way to do it.

Sorry your tenant is a bint.

Some nerve she has. I dont think I would have the balls to tell my landlord (or hint) that I had no intention of following the rules. Can you file a noise complaint on your own tenant? Cuz 10 pm is the cutoff for disruptive and excessive noise. I know from experience with my former IA City upstair neighbors and their drunken tuba playing.

We'd all be happier if you would grow another set of arms so you could knit and blog at the same time.

As for the noisy tenant? You don't have to renew her lease.

She's moving out at the end of July. [/counting days}

I am sorry your tenant is being such a pain.

The hat looks great! Don't worry about following the patterns exactly. I rarely do. Figure out what works and looks the best. As long as the booties match, it doesn't really matter.

So sorry about the tenant. My friend is going through the same thing right now with the guy in her basement. He has a sub-woofer on his tv set up. Eep.

And smokes up in the garage.

The hat looks awesome! Whoohoo for crafty!
